EcoSociety brings ALL IN to Rossland & Nelson

As we wake up to frosty mornings and catch a glimpse of the first skiffs of snow, it’s a clear sign that winter is coming. And what better way to celebrate than with a ski movie!?

We are very excited to announce that EcoSociety will be hosting two screenings of Matchstick Production’s latest ski movie, ALL IN. Featuring an equal cast of women and men, this movie casually breaks gender stereotypes with humour, and above all, a fun-loving spirit. Tickets are limited, use the links below to get yours today!

ALL IN has many meanings – it refers to greater inclusivity in the sport, the complete dedication of the athletes, and in terms of climate change, the high stakes of taking action now or dealing with increasingly severe consequences… we’re all in this challenge of saving the world we love together.

For example, we all need to be involved in the transition to 100% renewable energy because we all use fossil fuels directly or indirectly. Mounds of fresh powder are every skier’s dream, but less snow will affect us all as summers get hotter, less snow falls in the winter, and fresh water supplies diminish.

It’s easy for us environmental folk to get caught in the doom and gloom narrative. But for me, connecting to what makes me feel weightless, the light-hearted joy of snow flying in my face as I float through powder reminds me of the wonder of winter. It reminds me that there is hope in this story, and it gives me the energy to double down on my efforts to transition the West Kootenays to 100% renewable energy by 2050.

I hope you will join us for one of two screenings available in the Kootenays, and support our work through your attendance!

Did I mention that we have lots of prizes to give away from local businesses and ski hills? And that we will be drawing the winners of our much-anticipated electric bike raffle at the Nelson screening? There are so many reasons to come, but best of all you can directly support the transition to renewable energy by attending, as all proceeds go to the West Kootenay EcoSociety. Get your tickets today!
